The Gaddlight is an item in Mario Party 4. It is an invention created by Professor E. Gadd. In Mario Party 4, this item replaces the Boo Repellent (from Mario Party 3) and was succeeded by the Bone Capsule (in Mario Party 5) and the Boo-Away Orb (in Mario Party 6).
Description[]
The Gaddlight is a small flashlight that is green in color with an image of a Boo crossed out on it. If someone uses a Boo (from a Boo's Crystal Ball or summons Boo from a Boo House) the victim can tap "A" and lose less coins but can't fight back if the Boo steals a star. However, if the victim has a Gaddlight, they are able to flash light at the Boo to scare him away (when he is after their stars or coins). The Boo does not steal anything from the victim. Then the player --who summoned the Boo (from the Boo's Crystal Ball or Boo House)-- ends up wasting 5 coins (to steal coins) or 50 coins (to steal a star) for nothing.
This item does not work with the Big Boo on Boo's Haunted Bash (via the Happening Spaces). That is, even if all three victim players (after the player summoned the Big Boo) have a Gaddlight. Since this item doesn't protect the victim against the Big Boo, the victim(s)/targeted player(s) are forced to watch and get their stars and/or coins stolen from him (the Big Boo).
In Mario Party 4[]
Gaddlights can be either bought or earned in boards in the game. The Gaddlight's main function is to ward off attacks from the Boo.
Trivia[]
- Even though the Gaddlight is an invention of E. Gadd's, he doesn't appear in Mario Party 4, and it was not until Mario Party 6 when he made his Mario Party series debut.
