Funky Kong is a character from the Donkey Kong series. He first appeared in Donkey Kong Country. In the first two Donkey Kong Country games, Funky Kong allowed players to travel to any world they had previously visited. In Donkey Kong Country 3, he ran a boat rental service that the player had to utilize in order to advance in the game. In Donkey Kong 64, Funky Kong ran an armory shop that allowed the Kongs to purchase weapons and upgrades from.
Mario Kart Wii
Mario Kart Wii marks Funky Kong's first appearance in a Mario Kart game. Funky Kong is a large type character and must be unlocked by unlocking four Expert Staff Ghost data in Time Trials. He has a speed bonus of 4, which makes him a very popular character to use in time trials with fast heavy bikes.

- Ever the jack-of-all-trades, Funky Kong is an entertainer, mechanic, surfer, and salesman.
- In Donkey Kong Country 2, he rides on top of a flying surfboard, much like the Silver Surfer from Marvel's Fantastic Four.
