Fuel Me Once, titled Can't Fuel Me! in PAL releases, is a General minigame in Mario Party: Island Tour.

Opening[]

A blue Toad demonstrates how to play the minigame. The demo concludes with blue Toad landing on the "100" spot.

Gameplay[]

Each character's fuel gauge for their respective jet pack is displayed on the bottom screen. The hand starts moving at a random speed, and a few seconds later, the gauge is covered, so the characters must keep track of the position and speed of the hand to try and stop it as close to the 100 mark as possible. Whoever stops it closest to the mark is the winner.

Ending[]

The ending of Fuel Me Once

Each character rides their jet pack above a lake, and their landing position depends on their result, and whoever traveled the farthest is revealed to be the winner.

Controls[]

  • A Button: Stop fueling

In-game text[]

  • Rules (American English): Try to fill your jet pack with just enough fuel to land on the platform.
  • Rules (British English): Stop the meter at 100. The meter will be hidden while filling up, so you'll have to guess when it's at the right amount.

Trivia[]

  • Its American English name is a pun on the expression "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me," which would also become the name origin for Mario Party 10's Foo Me Once.
    • Meanwhile, the British English name is a pun on the saying "Can't fool me."
