Fruits of Doom is one of Bowser's mini-games Mario Party 4. Fitting its nature as a Bowser minigame, it must be selected on the minigame roulette wheel that is triggered with a Bowser minigame result on the base roulette.
Gameplay[]
Bowser is hungry and orders the players to bring fruit to eat to his table. (In the minigame, eight fruits appear --an apple, grapes, bananas, an orange, a strawberry, a cantaloupe, and a pineapple.) Before the game begins, he'll make a list of the fruit (at least 10) that he wants (Example: Pineapple, cherry, cherry, grape, orange, strawberry, cantaloupe, strawberry, apple, cherry means that Bowser wishes for one pineapple, three cherries, one grape, one peach, one orange, two strawberries, one melon, and one apple.) As he continues, the list he gets faster, making his list of fruits to give him hard to understand. Once the list is made, it's time to start the game! Each player in turn will pick a fruit and gives it to him for a taste test. If the player brings in the fruit Bowser has on his list and there are still slots for that fruit, that's good and he/she gets to keep playing. (Bowser will show this by eating the fruit hands and commenting on the fruit's taste with line such as "Yummy!", "Dee-lish!", or "Scrumptious!") The game continues until someone brings in the wrong fruit or a fruit that is one too many. Occasionally, Bowser may show second thoughts before consuming a fruit regardless if it's right or wrong. But that action he shows is intended to be a bluff. If you do bring an incorrect fruit, then Bowser will get rid of the fruit, saying "NO!!" loudly (or "GET RID OF THIS!" or "I CAN'T EAT THIS!"). After that, he breathes out fire on that unlucky person and that person loses.
How to win[]
In order to win this minigame, players must get fruits for Bowser, then feed them to him. Whoever brings an incorrect fruit loses as Bowser attacks with his fire breath.
Rules[]
Much like the other Bowser minigames, the rules are stated during the game's introduction, rather than on their own separate screen. Koopa Kid discloses them, whilst his fan-toting brother sprinkles some extra dialogue in.
- Rules: "Master Bowser will say which fruits he wants to eat! Then you guys must find the right fruit and bring it to him! Stand in front of the fruit and press the A button to grab it. If you bring a fruit that Master Bowser didn't ask for... or if you bring more than the number he asked for... Then things get a wee bit warmer for you!!"
There is no advice for this minigame.
Cutscenes[]
Intro[]
During the introduction, Bowser is shown sitting on his throne as his table pops up in front of him. Koopa Kid explains the rules. Afterwards, Bowser says, "I am so very HUNGRY!!! You! Weaklings! Bring fruit to satiate the mighty Koopa King!! What refreshing flavor do I long for...?" Bowser then lists off the fruits that he wants; however, his list speeds up near the end, making him hard to comprehend. After his list finishes, Bowser demands, "Now, bring them quickly!!"
Ending[]
Bowser opens fire on the loser(s) with his fire breath for bringing him fruits that are not on his list or too many of a fruit that is on his list. The winners get away unscathed.
