Frog Coins are an item in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

Description[]

Frog Coins are a rare type of coin generally only used amongst frogs and tadpoles. They are green coins depicting a frog on the side. Whenever a Frog Coin is picked up, it plays a deep, musical clunking sound.

Frog Coins appear in a variety of locations, such as in various Surprise Boxes. There are two shops that sell rare items in exchange for Frog Coins: the "Frog Coin" emporium at Tadpole Pond and a small shop run by Frogfucius' Student in Seaside Town.

Frog Coins are a reward for performing well in certain minigames. In Sky Bridge, completing the Expert course rewards the party with a Frog Coin. In Beetle Race, collecting a Golden Beetle and giving it to the Snifit at Beetles Are Us earns the party with a Frog Coin. At Grate Guy's Casino, the party can earn one Frog Coin by lining up three symbols in the slot machine. In the same location, they can also earn an additional Frog Coin in Blackjack by betting a Frog Coin and winning the game.

On Midas Waterfall, four Frog Coins appear outside of the caves. Sixty coins from the waterfall and Midas River can be exchanged for one Frog Coin. If 100 coins are collected in one session, the party earns five Frog Coins.

Aside from regular Frog Coins, there is a Rare Frog Coin that Croco steals from Mallow, and the party has to retrieve it from him.
