"French" is the fifty-seventh live-action segment of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. It is paired with the animated episode "Escape from Koopatraz."
Plot[]
At Mario Bros. Plumbing, Luigi is busily working on his French, reading from a phrase book and speaking the words out loud. Mario's curiosity finally gets the best of him and he asks Luigi what he's up to. Luigi points out that women like men who speak French and is laughed at by Mario. He continues to practice hoping to prove Mario wrong.
Both the Mario Brothers continue their activities and Luigi finally gets fed up with Mario's mocking. Luigi leaves to practice in the park. Mario tells him not to come back until he can talk normal again.
Mario starts to get worried about Luigi and searches for him on the periscope. However, Luigi soon returns with a woman by his side. She asks Mario if he speaks French to which he replies "no." Luigi mocks his brother and walks off with his girlfriend. Mario then picks up the book of French and starts to learn for himself.
Trivia/Goofs[]
- Though Paul Winchell was credited as one of the guest stars, he never shows up in the live-action segment and instead does the voice of Toad's Grandfather.
