Fly Guys appear in various mini-games and boards throughout the Mario Party series. Their most notable role was hosting the duel mini-games in Mario Party 5.

Whenever a character used a Duel Capsule or initiate a duel on the board, a Fly Guy would come down to carry them off to the mini-game.

Fly Guys also appear in a handful of mini-games as well. In Mecha-Marathon, the characters must twist a wind-up key in order to initiate their mechanical Fly Guy in the race.

Several Fly Guys also appear in various backgrounds of duel mini-games. In Blown Away, a Fly guy can be seen circling around a tree with a Paratroopa in the background.
