Flower Grapples are objects found in Super Mario Galaxy 2. They resemble dual-plastic flowers with hooks in between and are commonly found in Galaxies where Yoshi is found in. Touching a Flower Grapple directly does nothing but while Mario/Luigi is riding Yoshi, if the green dino is to use his tongue on one with the help of the Star Cursor, he will extend his tongue to grab onto the Flower Grapple and flip upward gaining some extra height which allows him to reach higher platforms or effectively reach another Flower Grapple to go even higher, sometimes, Flower Grapples are used as a means of crossing high chasms, Yoshi can constantly swing from Flower Grapple to Flower Grapple to reach the other side or to simply reach items that are too high to reach. Flower Grapples are seen in several sections and planets of the Yoshi Star Galaxy, the Hightail Falls Galaxy, the Tall Trunk Galaxy, the Haunty Halls Galaxy, Bowser Jr.'s Fearsome Fleet, the Sweet Mystery Galaxy, the Flash Black Galaxy, Bowser's Galaxy Generator, and the Grandmaster Galaxy. Flower Grapples are also seen on Starship Mario after Yoshi joins the ship crew, they can be found above the nose (where the Yoshi Egg is located) and lead to an small island with 10 Berries which grant an extra life upon being swallowed by Yoshi.
