Mario Party
Not to be confused with Flip Out!, a microgame introduced in WarioWare: Twisted!.

Flip Out, titled Let Sleeping Flomps Lie in PAL versions, is a General minigame in Mario Party: Island Tour.

Opening[]

The demo features a Blue Toad jumping on the first Flomp and then onto a platform. As Toad lands on the second Flomp, it spins, sending Toad back to the start line.

Gameplay[]

The characters each have to jump on a straightforward path consisting of several Flomps and platforms on their way to the goal. While platforms are safe to stand on, Flomps frequently spin, sending a character back three spaces if they are standing on a Flomp the moment it spins. Whoever reaches the end first is the winner.

Controls[]

  • A Button – Jump

Flavor text[]

  • Rules (American English): Race and jump across platforms and Flomps to the finish line.
  • Rules (British English): Head for the goal by jumping on top of the Flomps.

Trivia[]

  • The minigame's name is derived from the phrase, "flip out," meaning to react very excitedly. The PAL name is derived from the idiom "let sleeping dogs lie," meaning to avoid terrible things that happened before.
