Flip | Mario Wiki

Flip is an ability used by Mario in Super Paper Mario. It is Mario's main technique and one of the most useful abilities in the game.

Usage[]

To have Mario use Flip, the player must press on the Wii Remote. By using Flip, Mario can switch into a 3D perspective, which is required to solve puzzles in certain areas. This ability can also be used to help defeat enemies and bosses. However, Mario cannot stay in the 3D world too long as a meter shows up on the screen. If the meter gets empty, then Mario will slowly start to take damage along long he remains in the 3D world. However, if Mario completes the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials and defeats Wracktail, he will earn a special power that allows him to stay in the 3D world for as long as he wants without worrying about taking damage.
