Mario Party
Not to be confused with Finger Painting, a microgame in WarioWare: Touched!.

Flinger Painting is a Free-for-All minigame in Mario Party 9.

Opening[]

The camera focuses on a canvas as it zooms out, then the characters enter the area.

Gameplay[]

The characters have shoot paintballs at the canvas, which they have to try and cover as much of with their color as possible. To shoot a paintball, the player must aim the Wii Remote at the screen and either press or hold A Button. If the button is held, the player's character can charge a shot that covers a larger area of the canvas with paint. At the end, once the 15-second time limit is up, the character whose color covers most of the canvas is the winner.

In Time Attack, the player's character has to cover at least 90% of the canvas. There is also a bonus objective in which they must do ten shots or fewer.

Flavor text[]

  • Rules: Launch paint blobs at the canvas. Cover the most space with your color to win!
  • Controls: Point the Wii Remote at the area you want to hit with your paint. Press A Button to shoot. Hold A Button to charge up a large paint shot. Release A Button after charging to fire.

Trivia[]

  • The minigame's name is a pun on finger painting, a type of art in which one paints using their finger.
