Fire watermelon

Fire watermelons, also named Red Watermelons, are a type of item featured in the Yoshi platforming titles. They are red watermelons that grant a Yoshi the ability to breathe out a few bursts of fire.

In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island[]

Here, they are named Red Watermelons, and allow a Yoshi to breathe out three streams of fire, which is necessary for melting some Ice Blocks. There is a upgraded Special Item variant named Super Red Watermelon that gives a Yoshi a more powerful Red Watermelon allowing him to breathe up to nine streams of fire.
