Tostarenans are the native of the Sand Kingdom introduced in Super Mario Odyssey. They are the warm and friendly people who live in the Tostarena area of the Sand Kingdom.
Description[]
Tostarenans are based on the typical candy sugarskulls, candy coming from a Mexican tradition called "day of the dead" the candy has a skull shape, and Mexican stereotype (people with sarape, mustache, and sombrero). As from their appearance, they're in all Mexican clothing, holding maracas, which are an instrument in Mexico.

- Despite their nature as skeletons, Tostarenans have an undead counterpart that is introduced after Harriet is defeated the first time.
