World 8-4 is the final level of Super Mario Bros. and its remakes Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. It is where the player fights the real Bowser for the first and final time in this game. The player is given a time limit of 400 seconds to complete it.
Layout[]
This castle acts like a maze, featuring many Warp Pipes and different paths to take. The player must choose the correct pipe to advance through, keeping in mind the time limit. This level also contains many enemies that can easily halt Mario's progress. This is also the first castle to feature an underground area, which contains Fire-Bars and Bloobers. The player then fights the real Bowser, and he must avoid his many attacks such as hammers and fire breath. After Bowser is defeated, the player then finally rescues Princess Peach, putting an end to the game.
Challenges in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe[]
In Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, there are five Red Coins and a hidden Yoshi Egg to collect. The player will also obtain a medal based on their score. The target score for this level is 18000.
Red Coin locations[]
- Red Coin #1 is located at the beginning, right above the stairs.
- Red Coin #2 is located in the first area, above the lava pit.
- Red Coin #3 is located high above the pipe that the player is require to pass through in the third section.
- Red Coin #4 is located in the underwater area, above the third Fire-Bar.
- Red Coin #5 is located at the end of the level, above the axe.
Yoshi Egg location[]
- The Yoshi Egg is found inside a Hidden Block placed right above the exit pipe leading from the underwater area.
