World 2-3 is the third and final level of World 2 in Super Mario Bros. 2 and its remakes Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Advance. In Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, it is referred to as Chapter 2-3, titled Stay Cool! or The End of the World of Deserts!. The boss of this level is Tryclyde.
Layout[]
The player begins underground and must climb up a ladder to reach the overworld. If the selected character is Luigi, he can easily reach the high platform above, to the right, to reach a door leading to an area where a Magical Potion can be found.
The player must navigate through the overworld to reach another pyramid. Upon entering, they will find themselves dropping in one of two drop lanes until they reach the sand pit. They must dig their way down to find a room with the key, then bring the key back up to the locked door. Once through, the player will be getting closer to the boss area. Once they collect the crystal orb to the Masked Gate, they can enter the final area, where they will encounter Tryclyde. To defeat him, the player must simply toss Mushroom Blocks at him three times.
Collectibles in Super Mario Advance[]
In Super Mario Advance, there are five Ace Coins to collect. Collecting all of them rewards the player with a 1-Up. In the Yoshi Challenge, there are two Yoshi Eggs to collect.
Ace Coins[]
- Ace Coin #1 is located to the right of the first cactus.
- Ace Coin #2 is located above the cactus that comes before the second pit of sand.
- Ace Coin #3 is located within the underground cavern, in the left drop lane.
- Ace Coin #4 is located left of the door leading to the key.
- Ace Coin #5 is located directly above the Panser.
Yoshi Eggs[]
- Yoshi Egg #1 is found to the right of the ladder where the vegetables are.
- Yoshi Egg #2 is found on the ledge where the Magical Potion is found.
