World 2-2 is the second level of World 2 in Super Mario Bros. 2 and its remakes Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Advance. In Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, it is referred to as Chapter 2-2, titled Don't Be Discouraged! or Cobrat Attacks!. The boss of this level is a Red Birdo.
Layout[]
This level is similar to the previous one, in which the player starts by navigating outside before entering an underground cavern. An extra life can be obtain in an additional underground cavern. The first cavern hols a Magical Potion. Located after the cavern are six jars, five of which contain red turtle shells, and the other has a small heart and a POW Block.
What follows is a large pit full of Shy Guys. The player must dig their way down the large pit to find a door that leads to an area where they will encounter a Red Birdo, the first one in the game. This Birdo spits both eggs and fireballs at the player. There are Mushroom Blocks the player can use as an alternative to the Birdo's eggs.
Collectibles in Super Mario Advance[]
In Super Mario Advance, there are five Ace Coins to collect. Collecting all of them rewards the player with a 1-Up. In the Yoshi Challenge, there are two Yoshi Eggs to collect.
Ace Coins[]
- Ace Coin #1 is located above the first bone.
- Ace Coin #2 is located above the bone sitting on the second pit of quicksand.
- Ace Coin #3 is located between the two Pansers, following the jars.
- Ace Coin #4 is located in the sand pit, on the left side when it begins to widen.
- Ace Coin #5 is located on the left side of the sand pit, where it splits in two.
Yoshi Eggs[]
- Yoshi Egg #1 is found on the right side of the breakable wall, where the heart is found. The player must place the Magical Potion on the other side of the wall.
- Yoshi Egg #2 is found at the top of the sand pit. The player must obtain the Magical Potion from the jar on the left side of the pit and bring it back to the top of the pit.
