World 2-1 is the first level of World 2 in Super Mario Bros. 2 and its remakes Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Advance. In Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, it is referred to as Chapter 2-1, titled A Desert Expedition or Enter the World of Deserts!. The boss of this level is a Pink Birdo.
Layout[]
The player starts off navigating through an area with several Cobrats and Shy Guy. There are two vases the player can enter and encounter some Snifits. At the end of this area is a pyramid the player must enter. Inside, the player must dig their way down through the sand, while avoiding contact with several Shy Guys and Snifits. At the bottom, on the left side, is a ladder that leads down to the bottom, where the player must enter a door that leads to the final area. In the final area is a Pink Birdo the player must defeat in order to advance.
Collectibles in Super Mario Advance[]
In Super Mario Advance, there are five Ace Coins to collect. Collecting all of them rewards the player with a 1-Up. In the Yoshi Challenge, there are two Yoshi Eggs to collect.
Ace Coins[]
- Ace Coin #1 is located above the first set of bones, just before the first jar.
- Ace Coin #2 is located above the cactus, coming before the Panser.
- Ace Coin #3 is located in between the two cacti in the quicksand, not far from the pyramid.
- Ace Coin #4 is located inside the pyramid, on the right side when the player begins digging.
- Ace Coin #5 is located below the fourth coin, on the left side.
Yoshi Eggs[]
- Yoshi Egg #1 is found falling into the quicksand.
- Yoshi Egg #2 is found near the red Panser.
