Figure-8 Circuit is the first racecourse of the Mushroom Cup in Mario Kart DS. It also serves as the location of the awards ceremony that takes place after completion of any cup. Comparable to Luigi Circuit from many other Mario Kart titles, as it is simple, straightforward, and free of gimmicks. This course has a different introduction fanfare in Grand Prix mode, which is shared with courses such as Waluigi Pinball, Mario Circuit (with which it also shares its music theme), and GCN Luigi Circuit.

A Mario Kart-themed course entitled "Mario Circuit" appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Its layout resembles that of Figure-8 Circuit, and it reappears under the name "Figure-8 Circuit" in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Layout[]

From a bird's eye view, this track is shaped like the number 8. It is deemed the easiest track in the entire game because it consists of no obstacles except for the grass, which can slow the player down. The course has a large crowd that watches the race. One part of the track overlaps another with a brick bridge. There are giant 2-D blocks, soundboxes, signs, and a pitstop building at the track edge. In the background, one can see pipes, trees, and a cloudy, blue sky. The staff ghost uses Mario in the Standard MR.

Missions[]

Missions 1-1 and 1-2 take place along this track. The first mission requires the player to pass through five gates in order, while the second requires them to gather ten coins.
