Easy Pickings is a 1-vs-3 minigame in Mario Party 7.
Opening[]
The solo character and team each ride a mine cart headed down a straight path in a mine. They then jump out, each using their pickaxe to break a rock in front of them. Because the solo character has a larger pickaxe, they break the rock in their way with one hit, while the team members each have a rock in front of them and take three hits to break it. The team members break all three rocks simultaneously. The characters then continue into a rock-covered area where the minigame takes place.
Gameplay[]
Each side has to try and discover gems by smashing rocks. Red gems are worth a point, while purple gems are worth three points. There are dark-colored rocks that cannot be broken. Just as in the intro, the solo character's golden pickaxe can break rocks with a single hit, and each team member's smaller pickaxe can break a rock by hitting it three times. Easy Pickings has a time limit of 30 seconds, after which the minigame ends, and whoever collected the most points is the winner. If both the solo character and team end with the same number of gems, the minigame ends as a draw.
Ending[]
The game transitions to a scene where the winners are standing behind two wooden baskets, each filled with red and purple gems, and perform their victory animation. If the minigame ends as a draw, all characters perform their respective losing animation.
