e-Coins are an item in Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3.
Description[]
e-Coins only appear in certain levels of World-e. They are collectible items which only contribute to the completion rating. A total of eight e-Coins are available, only three of which are available in the original North American version due to only a select number of World-e levels being released there. In digital ports of Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, all eight e-Coins can be obtained in all regional releases because the entirety of World-e was implemented into the base game.
Each e-Coin depicts the e-Reader "e" on one side, as seen in the levels, and an image of a character or power-up on the other side. After Mario or Luigi collect an e-Coin and complete a level, they can find it on display in the e-Coin Castle, within its own frame, depicting a unique image and listing the level in which they are found underneath. If Mario or Luigi obtain an e-Coin in a level in which it is found within a block or under a grass tuft, the e-Coin is replaced by a 1-Up Mushroom if they revisit the level.
