Duel Tower is a location in Mario Party Advance.
Description[]
Duel Tower serves a training area for characters. It is a tall stone tower with a set of spiral stairs leading up to the top. The lowest part of Duel Tower is partially covered with vines on the left side. Duel Tower consists of three floors, including both the ground floor and the top floor. The background shows dark gray clouds in the sky, and the highest floor shows there is a thunderstorm.
Duel Tower is the only location to have three quests bearing its name—Duel Tower, 1F, Duel Tower, 2F, and Duel Tower, 3F, as each quest takes place on a different floor of the tower.
In Mario Party Advance[]
Duel Tower is located in the Seaside Area of Shroom City. Whomp, Salvo, and Mouser acting as challengers on the first, second, and third floors respectively. However, when Whomp leaves to hang out with Thwomp, his role is taken over by Chain Chomp.
When the player's character accesses Duel Tower, they are greeted by Mouser, who only allows them to enter if they say the "duelist greeting," which is "Chaaaarge!". If the player's character gives the correct greeting, this begins the quest Duel Tower, 1F, in which the player's character faces off against Whomp in a Duel minigame, Stair Scare. When the player's character wins, they can continue on to the next floor.
On the second floor, Mouser congratulates the player's character for succeeding. Following this, the quest Duel Tower, 2F begins, and it involves beating Salvo in a different Duel minigame, Volleybomb, and defeating Salvo allows the player's character to advance to the third and final floor.
At the top, Mouser himself challenges the player's character in the quest Duel Tower, 3F. When the player's character wins the final Duel minigame, Chicken!, Mouser congratulates them on their efforts, claiming that the climb of the tower has sufficiently trained them in all necessary aspects, letting them master "skill, strength, and mind." Mouser then urges the player's character to challenge Bowser before he takes over the world.
