Dry Dry Outpost is a small town found within Dry Dry Desert in Paper Mario and was mentioned in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.

Layout[]

Given of it's namesake, Dry Dry Outpost is a desert town that has many dried up trees around. The primary citizens of this town are Toads and Little Mousers where the Toads themselves wear turbans to keep themselves cool (aside from the composer who doesn't wear one most likely due to him always seen inside of his house).

History[]

Dry Dry Outpost contains an Item Shop, a Toad House, and numerous Little Mousers, including Moustafa, who gives Mario the Pulse Stone that will allow him to locate the neighboring Dry Dry Ruins where the second Star Spirit lies. Mario can access this town by heading due right from the bridge or by heading through a blue Warp Pipe located in Toad Town Tunnels for a faster route. Another resident of Dry Dry Outpost is a lone Toad who is referred to as Toad in the Desert. His role in the game is minor, but he can still be talked to in order to complete a sidequest involving helping the Composer back in Toad Town finish the lyrics to his new song.

In a back alley right beside the Toad House, the shaman Merlee can be found where she offers a service where she will occur during battle to either increase Mario's attack power, defense, coins, and even double his Star Points. The more coins he offers, the longer she will appear throughout the battles. It should be noted that these are completely at random and there are times where Merlee won't even appear in a battle.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Lumpy mentions a visit to Dry Dry Outpost during his quest to strike oil, which the player may give him some money to invest in this project. This visit can be divulged further by listening to "Part 3: A Helping Hand," the third tale in his adventure.
