A Drumstick is an item in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. They make a cameo in Mario & Luigi: Brothership.
Description[]
As their name implies, Drumsticks look like real-world chicken drumsticks, but their "meat" is tilted to one side, implying that their design comes from a chicken leg.
Only Bowser can use Drumsticks. He can consume them to restore his health in the same manner as Mario and Luigi use Mushrooms to restore theirs. The Hot Drumstick is the most common drumstick, giving 80 hit points to him. The next level up is the Fiery Drumstick, which serves as the "Super" version, restoring 150 hit points. The "Ultra" version is the TNT drumstick, which restores 280 hit points. There is no drumstick counterpart for the Max Mushroom. The 3DS remaster adds a "cheesy" variant that can be used in lieu of the Star Candy, as Bowser can only use the Star Candy in the DS version. Eating either one, causes him to be healed completely and regain all lost Special Points.
In the 3DS remaster, if Bowser falls below half HP when fought in Doctor Toadley's Clinic and the Gauntlet, he will eat a Drumstick to heal completely unless he took enough damage. He doesn't do this at the start of the game in Princess Peach's Castle.
In Mario & Luigi: Brothership, Bowser is shown being given a drumstick by Starlow during his recuperation after Glohm Bowser's destruction. The drumstick eventually drops on a Goomba, who is told by Bowser to give it to him.
