Dr. Mario Express is a DSiWare title developed by Akira and published by Nintendo. It is part of the Dr. Mario series. It was originally released on the Nintendo DSi Shop as a game that could be downloaded for 500 DSi Points. Dr. Mario Express first released in Japan in 2008, then English-speaking countries in 2009, and lastly by Nintendo's Chinese subsidiary, iQue, in China in 2010. It was ported to the Nintendo 3DS's eShop on its date of launch, in 2011.
Dr. Mario Express is considered the handheld counterpart of the WiiWare title Dr. Mario Online Rx, a game also developed by Akira shortly beforehand.
