- —The Disco Wing threatens to punish Princess Peach after she and her friends clear the first floor of the Sparkle Theatre
The Disco Wing is a boss from Princess Peach: Showtime!. He is encountered on the first floor after Princess Peach cleanses the first floor's plays.
Profile[]
Physical appearance[]
The Disco Wing has two forms that he can shift between; in both forms, he has a disco ball for a body. In his normal form, the Disco Wing has the head, wings, and claws of a bird with green eyes, and his alternate form has him become a limbless (though still sentient) disco ball by tucking his head and limbs in. His heart is a purple blob.
Personality[]
Although not much can be gleaned from his personality due to his limited screen time, the Disco Wing is purportedly loyal to his master. When Princess Peach confronts him, the Disco Wing's reaction is of anger. His dialogue also mentions "Darkle," a dark counterpart to Sparkle.
Battle[]
The Disco Wing attacks by dropping three disco balls that Princess Peach has to attack with her Sparkle powers, which she gained from Stella. These disco balls become birds that bash against his disco ball torso upon being struck. After enough damage, he collapses, exposing his heart to attack. Princess Peach has to blast the heart with Sparkle to damage it; after enough damage, or if she takes too long, the Disco Wing will recover. If he got dropped to 2/3 his health, he summons some metal squares on the floor and then reverses the polarity of Peach's personal gravity, causing the princess to fall onto the ceiling; the squares follow suit to crush her. The Disco Wing then enters his disco ball form and bounces across the arena, destroying the metal squares; Princess Peach also needs to avoid him. The battle continues as in his first phase, though everyone's gravity has reversed polarity, including that of the Disco Wing himself. After his health drops to 1/3 health, though, gravity will reset, but Princess Peach will be forced onto the ceiling again as when she reduced the Disco Wing's health to 2/3. She will also need to avoid more metal squares. The battle then continues as in his first phase, though Princess Peach has less disco balls to strike with her Sparkle powers, as the Disco Wing summons bird chicks to his side during his disco ball drop attack, with the chicks replacing one of the disco balls. After he drops to 0 health, the Disco Wing is defeated for good, purifying the first floor of the Sparkle Theatre.
Behind the Scenes[]
Name[]
The word "disco" can rarely be turned into a verb that means "to dance disco-style dances," and the Disco Wing is named after this verb's present participle.
