A Dino-Torch (チビライタ Chibi Raita?) is an enemy which first appears in Super Mario World. In the game manual it is named Mini Rhino, but Mario Mania names them Mini-Dinos.
Dino-Torches have a larger counterpart, Dino Rhinos, and it has sometimes been ambiguous as to whether Dino-Torches or Dino Rhinos are the parent species. However, the meaning behind a Dino-Torch's Japanese name is "small Dino Rhino," suggesting Dino-Torches are the variant.
Profile[]
Physical description[]
A Dino-Torch's appearance resembles that of a Triceratops'. It has a turquoise body and a few purple scales lining its back.
In Super Mario World/Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World[]
Like their larger relatives, the Dino Rhinos, Dino-Torches are only encountered on Chocolate Island. Dino-Torches attack by spitting fire upwards at Mario, something that Dino Rhinos are incapable of doing. Dino-Torches can move around much faster than Dino Rhinos, and can be defeated from any attack including fire, which Dino Rhinos are invulnerable to. Defeating a Dino-Torch earns the player 200 points.

Super Mario-kun[]
- "I was waiting for you two to show up."
- —Dino-Torch
The Dino-Torch made its debut in Super Mario-kun Vol 1 1, where Luigi mistook it as one of Yoshi's colleagues, who turns out to be an enemy. It burnt Mario's cape preventing him from flying. When Dino-Torch opened its mouth again, Mario taped its mouth.
