Mario Party

Deck Hands is a minigame which first appears in Mario Party 7 and returns in Mario Party: The Top 100. In the former game, it is a Battle minigame but in the latter game it is a Free-for-All minigame.

Opening[]

Thirteen cards put together fall down from above in a circular formation and land in front of a Shy Guy before rearranging into a pile. A portion of the floor behind the table opens, revealing four platforms, each being stood on by one of the characters. The perspective then shifts to Shy Guy, who looks at the character whose turn is first, and the minigame starts.

Gameplay[]

Each character takes turns choosing one of the thirteen cards, each having a number of one through thirteen. Because all of the cards are face-down, winning the minigame is based on luck. Each player gets three turns to choose a card, and each time a character picks a card, the next character has to do so as well. Whoever has their three cards add up to the highest value is the winner. The highest possible value a character can get is 36, if they chose a 13, a 12, and an 11 each, while the lowest is a 6, if they chose a 3, a 2, and a 1 each.
