The Daytripper (also known as the Royal Racer in British English releases of Mario Kart Wii) is a kart that appears in the Mario Kart series.

Description[]

It is an old-fashioned, decorated, horse-drawn coach, with two wings equipped on each side and the back tires are larger than the front. The characters' emblem is located on the sides and back of the kart.

The Daytripper debuted in Mario Kart Wii, as an unlockable kart. To unlock it, the Leaf Cup in 150cc must be completed in first place on the, or if 2,700 races are played. The kart is based for Princess Peach and Princess Daisy. Its bike counterpart is the Sugarscoot.

The Daytripper offers good acceleration, handling, off-road and mini-turbo, but has below average speed and drift. It also has slightly above average weight.

The Daytripper was used by Normal Staff Ghosts, Nin★Toki with Princess Daisy, with the allotted time of 01:56.822 in Daisy Circuit and Nin★HIRO with Princess Peach in GCN Peach Beach, with the allotted time of 01:32.233.

  • Luigi: Green and white body, silver back.
  • Princess Peach: Pink and white body, white back.
  • Princess Daisy: Orange and white body, gold back.
  • Yoshi: Teal green and white body, lime green back.

Mario Kart Tour[]

The Daytripper returns in Mario Kart Tour, where it is classified as a Super kart. The tires used are the Wood tires from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It no longer has color swaps for each character like in Mario Kart Wii, with the Daytripper using Peach's pink version. Also, it is no longer called the Royal Racer in the British English version, and is just called the Daytripper in all versions.
