Dangling Ghost

Dangling Ghosts are an enemy featured in the Yoshi's Island series. They are gelatinous-like ghosts that hang from the ceiling within castle areas. Dangling Ghosts first appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and then return in Yoshi's New Island.

A Dangling Ghost swings back and forth in the manner of a pendulum, trying to hit the Yoshi. If a Dangling Ghost successfully hits Baby Mario, it snatches him in its jaws, and the Yoshi has to rescue Baby Mario from it. A Dangling Ghost can be temporarily defeated for a few seconds by throwing an egg at it. In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, doing so causes the Dangling Ghost causes to retract, but in Yoshi's New Island they simply freeze in place.
