Danger is a special status condition that appears throughout the Paper Mario series.

Appearances

Paper Mario

Danger first appears in Paper Mario where only Mario can get this status effect when his HP drops to 5. In this state, Mario will hunch over looking exhausted until he is healed by any type of recovery item or Star Power move. When Mario's HP reaches 1, he will be in Peril. Although it is highly recommened to restore Mario's HP before it drops to 0, certain badges actually aid Mario when he is in Danger. These badges are the Close Call badge (which sometimes causes an enemy's attack to miss) and the Power Rush badge (which increases attack power by 2 as long Mario is in Danger).

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Danger functions exactly the same. However, now Mario's partners can be in Danger due to them now having their own set of HP. Like with Mario, there are badges that can be used with partners when they are in Danger (the Close Call P and Power Rush P badges).

Super Paper Mario

In Super Paper Mario, Danger serves no other purpose but to alert the player to use a recovery item to heal (since there are no longer badges in this game).
