DSiWare refers to various downloadable applications and games for the Nintendo DSi, on which they can be downloaded from the Nintendo DSi Shop. Most DSiWare titles would later be reissued for the Nintendo 3DS on the Nintendo eShop. DSiWare was created as the Nintendo DSi's direct equivalent of WiiWare for the Wii. Some DSiWare titles were free, but most of them cost real money, in the form of Nintendo DSi Points, the system's equivalent of Wii Points. Because the Nintendo eShop does not have a points equivalent, any DSiWare titles re-released on the Nintendo 3DS was directly priced using actual currency.
As of March 31, 2017, with the closure of the Nintendo DSi Shop, DSiWare could no longer be obtained for Nintendo DSi systems. For nearly six more years, most DSiWare titles remained available for the Nintendo 3DS's Nintendo eShop until it shut down as well, on March 27, 2023.

DSiWare has several more Mario-related titles than WiiWare. While WiiWare only had two Mario-related titles, DSiWare has a total of nine, although seven of them are games whereas the other two are applications:
