Mario Baseball
For the similarly named baseball stadium in Mario Superstar Baseball, see Donkey Kong Jungle (baseball stadium).

DK Jungle is a baseball stadium which appears in Mario Super Sluggers. It is a part of the Baseball Kingdom.

Description[]

DK Jungle Night

DK Jungle during the nighttime

DK Jungle is the successor to the similarly-named Donkey Kong Jungle from Mario Superstar Baseball. It retains the same two Barrel Cannons on both sides of the outfield that each shoot large Barrels that roll in a diagonal line, crusher any fielder whom it rolls onto. The design of the location is different, and it appears to take more inspiration from Mesoamerican architecture. In the center, just behind the field, is a giant statue of Donkey Kong, the owner of the stadium, sitting behind three bongo drums. Aside from Barrel Cannons, another obstacle are the four poisonous flowers found further into the field, and any fielder who comes into contact with the gas is slowed temporarily.

At nighttime, the stadium is decorated by lit torches, and the Donkey Kong statue moves its arms to pound the bongos. The statue sometimes moves to stun the fielders. The Barrels shot onto the field at night are all on fire.

In Mario Super Sluggers[]

DK Jungle is first seen in the opening cinematic, in which Diddy Kong is shown catching the ball with a flip. Diddy then suddenly yells in horror as a giant barrel rolling towards him, but is saved by Donkey Kong, who smashes the barrel, and Diddy sighs in relief.

In Challenge mode, Bowser Jr.'s team is competed against here after all three stone pieces have been recovered, allowing the bridge to the stadium itself to move back up to its original position. Like the other locations, the player's character can talk to other characters on the overworld of DK Jungle to do some missions. One mission involves the player's character having to make use of Funky Kong or Dixie Kong's Clamber ability to cling onto a wall in DK Jungle and catch the baseball from there to get the Kritter out.

DK Jungle is where the minigame Barrel Basher takes place.
