DK's Jungle Ruins is one of the game boards in Mario Party 9. This board isn't played in Story Mode and can be purchased for Party Mode from the Museum for 500 Party Points. This board is the shortest in the game and is different form the other boards featured in Mario Party 9. Unique to this board, instead of collecting Mini Stars and Mini Ztars, players instead collect Bananas and Z-Bananas. (However, Bananas and Z-Bananas --on this board-- function identically to Mini Stars and Mini Ztars from previous boards.) Since player collects Bananas and Z-Bananas (instead of Mini Stars and Mini Ztars), Mini Star Spaces and Mini Ztar Spaces do not appear. And instead of boss battles there will be bonus mini-games. The 2 mini-game hosts are Diddy Kong and Donkey Kong. Diddy Kong hosts the mini-game the first time you go around the board and Donkey Kong hosts the second time. The winner is the person who gets the most bananas. Since stars and coins are replaced by Mini Stars and Mini Ztars --or Bananas and Z-Bananas in said board (DK's Jungle Ruins)-- Bonus Stars (at the end) award the player five Mini Stars. That is, with the exception of this board (DK's Jungle Ruins). If played on this board, they (Bonus Stars) award the player ten Bananas.
Trivia[]
- The starting vehicle for this board (the Barrel Roller) is similar in appearance to the DK Jumbo, a kart from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. The Jungle Junker also bears a resemblance to the Wildlife kart from Mario Kart DS, except that it is brown instead of green and has an emblem of a Banana Bunch on the hood instead of Donkey Kong's initials.
