"Cyrano de Mario" is the sixty-first live-action segment of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. It is paired with the animated episode "Raiders of the Lost Mushroom."
Plot[]
Mario and Luigi shift through their mail but find little more than bills and junk mail (and a check for ten million). However, Luigi comes across a letter that has the smell of perfume. The letter informs Mario that it's from a previous sweet heart and she's coming to make good of a promise Mario made once. Mario is worried because he remembers that he once promised to marry her.
Luigi pretends to be Roxanne, but Mario proves that he can't think of anything proper to say. He wishes that Luigi could talk for him and Luigi decides that there may be a way of doing that.
Roxanne enters into the basement and is happy to see Luigi. She wonders about where Luigi is and Mario claims he's gone because not feeling well. Roxanne explains how she's thought about Mario's promise. Luigi starts to prompt Mario from under the table, which Roxanne can hear. She then reveals to Mario that she's been married and all she wanted was to make good of Mario's promise to sell her plumbing supplies at wholesale price. She leaves soon afterwards and reveals she knew of Luigi's trick the whole time.
