Coursebot

Coursebot is the robot companion of the player in Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS and Super Mario Maker 2. It allows the player to save their levels and download levels from other players.

Coursebot allows the player to save and download levels in the Super Mario Maker games. His icon resembles the robot in Mario Paint when a picture is being saved to the console.

Super Mario Maker / Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS[]

In both Super Mario Maker and Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, Coursebot only appears when the player is saving a level, downloading a level or loading a level. It is introduced to the player in the tutorial when first starting the game.

Super Mario Maker 2[]

Coursebot acts the same as before. He also appears in the Story mode as a bonus for completing the game, and Coursebot is used to replay cutscenes from earlier after the player frees him from being stuck in the ground.
