Coral is featured as a placeable object when designing an underwater area in the Super Mario Bros. or Super Mario Bros. 3 style. Here, Coral can be formed by placing ground blocks in a stack.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door[]

Coral only appears during Bowser's underwater level, World 2. Because of Bowser's large size, Coral can serve as a hindrance to him, leaving him open to attack from either a Blooper or an X-Naut.
