Luigi's Mansion

The Conservatory is a room of the Haunted Towers in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.

Description[]

The Conservatory is a two-floor room with a large organ in the center as well as several armchairs. It is dilapidated, consisting of broken wooden planks and shattered tiles. There are several plants growing inside of the Conservatory, the quantity of which varies depending on the mission. In some missions, there are bulbs growing around the pipe organ and a gold bulb on the upper-right area of the room. The Conservatory can be accessed by taking the door on the fourth floor of the Toolshed Stairs, leading into the right side of the Conservatory, or by taking the one of two doors on the right side of the Crow's Nest, leading to the first and second floors of the Conservatory, respectively. The door on the right side of the Conservatory's second floor leads to a bonus challenge.

In Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon[]

The Conservatory is first accessed during B-2: The Pinwheel Gate. Here, Luigi has to go to the Conservatory to confront one of the Hiders that stole a vane from the pinwheel gate. However, before Luigi can capture the Hider, he must capture three Slammers, and after doing so, Luigi must play the organ so that the Hider emerges from its hiding spot. The mission does not feature that many plants growing in the Conservatory.

During B-4: Pool Party, Luigi has to go to Conservatory as an alternate route because the door to the West Bathroom is locked. In the Conservatory, by using the bulbs growing around the organ, Luigi can float to the upper left of the room and enter the door to find a portrait of a key. Luigi can also use a gold bulb to collect a trail of coins, and if done successfully, Luigi is awarded a treasure chest containing several coins, bills, and Gold Bars. This is the only mission where Luigi can do the bonus challenge, but in order to do so, Luigi has to use the Dark-Light Device to reveal Spirit Balls and then vacuum them up. In the bonus challenge, Luigi has to collect eight Red Coins within fifteen seconds for a treasure chest containing an emerald to appear.

In B-5: Doggone Key, the Conservatory is one of the Polterpup's hiding spots. After revealing the missing organ with the Dark-Light Device, Luigi must play it for the Polterpup to appear. The Polterpup then hides behind the organ as a Creeper appears in front of the entrance. Once Luigi has defeated the Creeper, the Polterpup then escapes to the west, only for Luigi to then have to battle three Greenies and a Gobber. Like in B-4: Pool Party, the Conservatory still has an abundance of plants.

During Bonus: Hostile Intrusion, the Conservatory could be one of the rooms infested with ghosts.
