Luigi's Mansion

Conservatory is a room in Luigi's Mansion and its Nintendo 3DS version.

Description[]

The Conservatory is a music room with a variety of musical instruments, including a saxophone, a harp, an upright bass, three kettle drums, a xylophone, and a grand piano. Luigi can examine any of the instruments except the grand piano to have it play a tune.

In Luigi's Mansion[]

The Conservatory first becomes accessible in Area Two, after obtaining the Key from Shivers in the Butler's Room. Luigi has to check each of the instruments, and activating an instrument causes it to play a part of Super Mario Bros.'s Ground Theme. Once every instrument except the grand piano is activated, a complete arrangement of the Ground Theme starts playing. Luigi then has to go to the grand piano, where Melody Pianissima appears. After Luigi answers Melody's trivia question correctly, she begins to send music sheets to attack him, and Luigi first has to vacuum up the music sheets into his Poltergust 3000 before he can also do so with Melody. After Luigi captures Melody, the lights turn on, and a treasure chest with the Key to the Dining Room appears.

During the blackout, three Gold Ghosts and one Purple Puncher can be found in the Conservatory. A Speedy Spirit also appears here exclusively during the blackout, and Luigi can find it by examining the seat in front of the piano.
