Cold Case is the first level in the Secret Mine of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.
Layout[]
In this mission, Professor Elvin Gadd pixelates Luigi into the Chalet Approach outside of the Secret Mine, and must search through the Chalet for a Toad assistant. Luigi then finds that he is trapped in a painting by Boofoon, in the Fishing Hut. By freeing the Toad using the Dark-Light Device, they both fall into the bottom of the mine and must find a way to access the elevator in the Airway back up to the Chalet and pixelate the Toad back to the Bunker. During Luigi's journey, he'll have to capture Greenies, Hiders, and Sneakers.

- Round sapphire: In the Smokehouse, Luigi must use the Dark-Light Device to uncover an invisible towel. Luigi must then vacuum the blue and yellow coats, which opens up access to this sapphire.
- Triangle sapphire: In the Fishing Hut, vacuum up a hidden pile of snow with the Poltergust 5000 from the southwest to collect it.
- Baguette sapphire: In Under the Ice, fire Toad into the shaft on the upper balcony so he can break the ice and push the sapphire out to collect it.
- Football sapphire: In the High Wires, Luigi must use the cables to cross the ravine, and collect the sapphire on the other side from the crow's nest.
- Drop sapphire: By accessing the Airway via the Terminal, Luigi must look into the binoculars and see a bat carrying the sapphire a dropping it into a barrel. Later on, after crossing the unstable bridge, Luigi should open the barrel to grab it.
Boo location[]
After coming back to the Terminal after collecting the key from the Airway, there is a barrel that has turned invisible, where the mission's Boo, Boofoon, is located in.
