Coin Fish

The Coin Fish is a seemingly living fish made up of coins. It dwells within the underwater depths of Noki Bay in Super Mario Sunshine.

In Noki Bay, the Coin Fish appears during the episode The Red Coin Fish, in the area where Eely Mouth was fought by Mario. The Coin Fish is made up of 39 coins, though eight of them are red coins. The goal is for Mario to obtain every Red Coin so that a Shine Sprite appears for him to collect.

The Coin Fish's default behavior is swimming back and forth underwater, swaying its body while doing so. Every few moments, the coins that make up the Coin Fish separate, floating independently within the water, before regrouping a few seconds later.
