A Coin Box is an object featured in a few Mario games. They first appear in Super Mario 3D Land.
Description[]
Coin Boxes are blocks with an identical appearance to a Question Block, although in Super Mario 3D World, Coin Boxes have a distinct, shiny glow to it. Whoever uses a Coin Box receives several but limited number of Coins as they move, and in the Super Mario series, Mario or another playable character can wear a Coin Box.

Mario wearing a ? Box in Super Mario 3D Land
Like Propeller Boxes, Mario or Luigi can wear a Coin Box on the upper part of their body, although this prevents them from being able to throw fireballs or boomerangs, or turn into a statue. While wearing a Coin Box, Mario or Luigi gain coins as they move around. A Coin Box cannot be removed unless Mario or Luigi touches an enemy or if he reaches the Goal Pole while wearing it, in which case they receive a 1-Up. Coin Boxes only appear in three courses: World 8-1, World 8-4, and Special 1-3.

Toad wearing a Coin Box in Super Mario 3D World
Coin Blocks function the same as Gold Blocks from New Super Mario Bros. 2 in that they disappear once the player's character has obtained 100 coins while wearing it. Like in Super Mario 3D Land, the character cannot use any power-ups while wearing a Coin Box, and touching a Goal Pole yields a 1-Up reward.
In Mario Kart Tour[]
Coin Boxes are featured as an object that releases coins onto the track. Several drivers have it as their Special Skill
