Co-Blarggs (also called Red Blarggs, Mini Blarggs, or simply Blarggs) are a recurring enemy in the Yoshi's Island series. They first appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
Profile[]
A Co-Blargg is a smaller variant of Blargg that attacks by poking its head out of the lava and moving slightly toward the Yoshi.
In Yoshi's Island series[]
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island/Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3[]
Co-Blarggs are first seen in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and later return in its remake Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. They are commonly found in lava pits inside several of the forts, one notable example being Burt the Bashful's Fort. They are seen resting in the lava but as soon as Yoshi approaches, they poke their heads out and attempt to bite. They deal damage upon contact and cannot be defeated however, Yoshi can send one back in the lava by tossing an egg, they are commonly seen early in the game and appear less towards the end in favor of the much larger Gargantua Blargg.
Yoshi's Island DS[]
Co-Blarggs return in Yoshi's Island DS retaining their behavior from before, they are once again seen dwelling in lava pits and poke their heads out as Yoshi approaches however, they the lava pits they dwell in are mostly much lower than the platforms so avoiding them shouldn't be much of an issue. Yoshi cannot destroy a Co-Blargg but he can toss an egg at one to send it back in the lava, through this, they can be made to appear in the Museum, here, they can be found in the Subterranean Enemy Exhibit. Co-Blarggs are mainly found in earlier levels of the game and not as much towards the end. Unlike the other Blarggs in this game, Co-Blarggs look almost identical to how they did in the original game.
Yoshi's New Island[]
Co-Blarggs return in Yoshi's New Island retaining their behavior from before however this time, they are somewhat bigger than they were previously. Once again, they attack by poking their heads out of the lava to attack and can be retreated by tossing an egg at them. They are also commonly found mainly in the earlier parts of the game.
