Stages, levels, or locations with a desert theme are areas that take place in the desert.

Other Traits and Features[]

The most obvious traits of desert-themed levels include quicksand as a hazard and, most commonly, Pokeys as the enemies. In many games, Bandits also linger around in the desert, waiting to steal from unsuspecting travelers. Like fire-themed levels, desert-themed levels tend to be very hot. Some desert-themed levels also contain an oasis.
