The Calico Cat Parents are the parents of the calico kittens found in Lake Lapcat in Bowser's Fury.

Profile[]

Physical description[]

The Calico Cat Parents resemble their kids, but are bigger. Three different parents appear in the game, each one found near each of the three Giga Bells.

Personality traits[]

The parent cries when its kittens went missing.

In Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[]

When Mario first encounters one in his adventures, she is shown crying, due to her kittens having gone missing.

The parent by the Lakeside Giga Bell, Oyaneko, has one kitten, the parent by the Ruins Giga Bell has three, and the parent by the Wasteland Giga Bell has five. Similar to the mission Li'l Penguin Lost in Super Mario 64, Mario must find the calico kittens within the parent's region and carry each one back to her. A counter over the parent's head signifies how many kittens are left to be returned. For each kitten other than the last that is returned to their parent, Mario earns three coins, and after returning the last kitten, he earns a Cat Shine as a reward. From then on, the parent can be seen smiling and purring with her kittens instead of crying. If Mario or Bowser Jr. attacks a calico cat parent, she does not take damage, and confetti appears instead.

Like their kittens, calico cat parents become corrupted while Fury Bowser is active and transform into Fury Calico Cat Parents to attack Mario.

Trivia[]

  • In the real world, calico cats are almost always female.
