Butterfly Blitz is a battle mini-game in Mario Party 4.
Opening[]
There is a close-up view of a butterfly flying by. The camera zooms out, and the characters each swing their butterfly net down and to the left.
Gameplay[]
The object is to collect the butterflies and obtain the most points within a time limit of sixty seconds. The characters can swing their nets either vertically or horizontally. Butterflies come in three colors—yellow, red, and blue—worth one, two, and three points respectively. Whoever ends with the most points is the winner.
Ending[]
The butterflies that were not caught quickly fly away, and the characters' butterfly nets all disappear. The characters line up, each having a jar in front of them. The collected butterflies individually fly out of the respective jars, in order of yellow, red, then the blue butterflies. Each butterfly that flies out adds a point to the overall score. Once all of a character's butterflies have been counted, their jar disappears. After every butterfly is counted, the winners perform their respective victory poses whilst the losing characters perform their respective losing poses. If every character ends with the same score, all of them perform their losing animation.
