Physical description[]
A Brier is a floating, round, light green creature covered in thorns about the size of its main body. They also have a red variation.
Behavior[]
Briers continually pulse their thorns in and out, and their thorns can pop any bubble drawn onto it. The only difference between the regular and red Briers is that they each pulse their thorns at opposite intervals. Briers have a weaker variant named Marucchi that can be defeated from a drawing a bubble around it.
In Yoshi Touch & Go[]
Briers are common enemies that are encountered in nearly every level, although red Briers appear only in Challenge and Vs. Battle modes. Yoshi can defeat a Brier by throwing an egg at it. If Yoshi throws an egg at a Brier while its spikes are retracted, the egg goes through it, but if an egg hits a Brier while its thorns are out, both the egg and the Brier get destroyed.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]
A Brier makes a cameo appearance as a sticker, which depicts its Yoshi Touch & Go artwork In Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary, the sticker can be applied to any fighter to increase their launch resistance by 7 points.
