Bowser's species/race, named royal reptiles in the The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 cartoon,[1] royal Koopas in Super Mario Sunshine,[2] and king tribe (「王族」 ō-zoku?) in the Japanese Super Mario Complete Encyclopedia,[3] are a race of the Koopa species, the same as Bowser. They first appeared in Super Mario Bros. and made many apperances helping Bowser kidnap Princess Peach.

Physical description[]
Bowser's species are a large tortoise-like species and the leaders of the Koopa species. They generally have a yellow body and wear a Koopa Shell varying in color, they also often wear spiked metal cuffs around their arms.
