Not to be confused with Bounce and Trounce, a similar minigame in Super Mario 64 DS, or Bounce 'n' Trounce, a minigame in Mario Party 3.

Bounce and Pounce is one of Mario's minigames in Super Mario 64 DS.

Layout[]

The minigame takes place high in a cloudy sky during daytime. A few rainbows can also be seen.

Gameplay[]

The three Marios have to stomp on every Fly Guy in each level, and doing so takes them to the next level. The player can tap the Marios with their Stylus to launch them upward. The player has a certain degree of control on how the Marios move upward. If a Mario is tapped in the middle, he launches straight upward, but if a Mario is tapped to the left or right, he moves the opposite direction, being right and left respectively.

Each level has its own configuration of Fly Guys, varying in behavior, size, and sometimes even number. The first fifteen levels all feature three Fly Guys, levels 16-20 feature four Fly Guys, levels 21–25 feature five Fly Guys, and level 26 and subsequent levels feature six Fly Guys.

Like the other minigames with several Marios, there are three lives, each represented by an icon providing a side view of Mario's head. If a Mario falls down the Touch Screen, one of the three lives are lost, although the Mario does return from the upper screen. The lives can be restored back to three for every five levels completed. If all three three lives are lost, it is a Game Over.
