Boss Brolder is a boss that appears in Super Mario 3D World. It serves as the primary boss of World 4, later on serves as one of the two first bosses of World Castle, and is overall the fifth and later either the tenth or eleventh boss of the game.
Appearance[]
As his name suggests, Boss Brolder resembles a regular Brolder but with some key differences. Boss Brolder's arm and body are constantly flowing with lava. His eyes now have a golden-orange glow and an angry scowl. Shards of rock now protrude from his body and a large chunk of rock is placed below Boss Brolder's eyes, making it look like a nose. Boss Brolder is the supposed leader of the Brolders.
Overview[]
He is mostly fought at the end castle of World 4. Like most bosses in the game, Boss Brolder will explode after being defeated by the player.
Attacks[]
- Brolder Call: Boss Brolder will jump and stomp on the ground bringing three Brolders to assist him.
- Rollout: Like many other Brolders, Boss Brolder will roll at the player chasing it and after being hit 2 times it will begin to roll faster in order to difficult the player.
- Flame Spin: After taking a hit from the tossed Brolder, Boss Brolder will start spinning while throwing multiple fire rocks. Hint; stay very longer from the attack as Boss Brolder may also spin-chase the player.
Level Appearances[]
- Lava Rock Lair: He is first seen in this World 4 level as the boss. Players will have to hit him with Brolders to defeat him.
- Brolder Blockade is Back: The same battle in World 4, except now Players have to dodge the rolling Splorches.
- Boss Blitz: He is one of the bosses in the level. Defeat him normally.

- Boss Brolder shares his boss theme with King Ka-thunk and Motley Bossblob.
- Boss Brolder is the first of the only Main World Bosses of Super Mario 3D World that later on in the game become a Normal Boss, the other being Pom-Pom.
- Boss Brolder has many similarities to Scaldera, a boss from the Nintendo Wii game, The Legend of Zelda: Skyword Sword, as they are both large rock ball-like creatures that resides in fiery areas, they both have fire appendages and as they get damage, they loss their rock armor, reviling lava skin. Additionally, they both have similar attacks, such as rolling at the Player and launching fireballs.
- Like his Brolder counter-parts, Boss Brolder has a slight resemblance to Geodudes, a race of rock-like creature from the Pokemon franchise.
