Body Check is a move in the Mario Baseball series, appearing in both Mario Superstar Baseball and Mario Super Sluggers. Its function and the characters who can use it differs between the two games.

In Mario Baseball series[]

Mario Superstar Baseball[]

By rapidly pressing B Button, the runner can tackle a baseman, knocking the ball away from the baseman as they are about to catch it and allowing the runner to perform a close play. The move can be used by seven characters, including Wario, Toad, Birdo, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Petey Piranha, and Hammer Bro.

Mario Super Sluggers[]

Body Check is instead an an automatic action that occurs if the runner succeeds in a close play, which is done by pressing the correct button shown onscreen. Most characters can use the move except Blooper, Boo, King Boo, Dry Bones, and Monty Mole, all of whom have a close-play ability of their own.
